NY DBOX Holodeck

Overview
A permanent co-located VR Holodeck inside DBOX's Manhattan headquarters — a second-generation system that replaced OptiTrack with shared spatial anchors, enabling high-end architectural visualization tours without requiring clients to travel to Austin.
About the Project
DBOX has been the design partner behind the Four Seasons Lake Austin from the beginning — and in 2025 they set aside nearly 2,000 sq ft of their New York offices to bring that experience to their home city. The result is a Gen 2 Holodeck that rethinks how shared VR environments are built. Out went the dozens of OptiTrack cameras required by the Austin setup. In came a shared spatial anchor system developed by Agile Lens that works reliably in the high-density Wi-Fi environment of downtown Manhattan — a meaningful technical leap from a hilltop in Austin. The experience itself was rebuilt from UE 4.27 to Unreal Engine 5.4, improving performance significantly. New control panels, onboarding flows, and real-time analytics for spatial anchor health were designed to make the experience as smooth for operators as it is for viewers.
